Outstanding Response to Dunlop at AutoSport Show
From the 14th - 17th January Dunlop were present at the Autosport International Show at the NEC, Birmingham. The show attracted over 85,000 visitors through the doors across the four day event and Dunlop welcomed almost every one of them onto their 464 metre square stand.
Dunlop created a completely live and interactive environment featuring a mouth watering selection of cars from championships such as the British Touring Car Championship, Le Mans 24 hours, Dunlop Sport Maxx Cup Radical, FRT Moto2 Bike, Formula Ford and Autosport Young Guns.
The JMW Motorsport Aston Martin Vantage GT2 which will race in the 2010 Le Mans Series was a real crowd pleaser. Fully Dunlop branded, the car was one of the main features on the stand sitting underneath the famous Dunlop Bridge which was replicated on the stand.
Integrated within these championship winning vehicles Dunlop hosted their very own media stage where racing stars such as Colin Turkington, Johnny Herbert and Matt Neal were interviewed throughout the show.
Amongst all the action the stand was also host to Ian Cook, artist of PopBang Colour which uses Dunlop tyre treads and remote controlled cars to create individual pieces of artwork. Ian painted one of his spectacular pieces on the Dunlop stand which was later auctioned off.
‘We were overwhelmed by the positive response to our stand at the show. The interactive, live elements of the stand made such an impact,’ said Nicole Smith, Dunlop Brand Manager. ‘We were able to feature over 10 vehicles on the stand which really highlighted all of our expertise in racing. This, combined with our live on stage interviews really brought the Dunlop stand to life,’ Nicole continued.
‘Not only did we manage to display our full breadth of motorsport talent but we were able to discuss contracts with customers and generate a large amount of interest in purchasing Dunlop. All in all it was a very successful show for Dunlop on all levels,’ concluded Nicole.
